Se evaluan los desafios que tanto el modelo social de la discapacidad como el Movimiento de la Discapacidad que esta emergiendo plantean a las organizaciones beneficas tradicionales. Entre estos desafios está un debate fundamental sobre la definicion de terminos como "normal", y "discapacitado", un estudio de como se debe entender la discapacidad, y discusiones sobre que tipo de acciones constituyen respuestas apropiadas o inapropiadas a la discapacidad.
