La depresión perinatal es una afección frecuente e infratratada, con posibles efectos nocivos en los resultados maternos, obstétricos, infantiles y pediátricos. Nuestro objetivo era comparar la eficacia de dos intervenciones a nivel de sistema en el entorno obstétrico -el Programa de Acceso a Psiquiatría Infantil de Massachusetts (MCPAP) para Madres y el PRograma de Apoyo a Madres (PRISM)- en la mejora de los síntomas de depresión y la participación en el tratamiento de salud mental entre las mujeres con depresión perinatal.
